The goal of SSPNJ is to encourage New Jersey’s self-directed deafblind adults to actively participate in the communities where they live and work. Our network of Support Service Providers, or SSPs, supports us in achieving this goal.
Funding for this project is provided by the New Jersey Commission for the Blind & Visually Impaired.

SSPNJ has learned that the US Bureau of Engraving and Printing has announced plans to distribute free “talking” iBill currency readers to blind and visually impaired US citizens and legal residents.
If you are enrolled in the National Library Service program and would like to receive an iBill currency reader, call 1-888-657-7323. When prompted for your regional library, say “library,” and you will be connected to your nearest braille and talking book library. Ask for a currency reader, and someone will take your name and contact information so that you will be issued a currency reader when they become available.
If you are not enrolled in the National Library Service and you would like an iBill currency reader, you’ll need to complete an application. You can get an application by going through the same phone call directions as above.
