NJCDB Family Day Fun

The New Jersey Consortium on Deaf-Blindness 2016 Family Learning Day took place on Saturday, September 17, 2016 at Sahara Sam’s Oasis in West Berlin, NJ. Families had the opportunity to attend a presentation provided by the SAMBULANCE program about the 411 on 911, as well as, participate in an “Identification Map” activity facilitated by NJCDB’s Project Director, Angel Perez.

NJCDB’s goal is to assure the provision of high quality education programs within natural environments/supported inclusive settings and appropriate services for infants, toddlers, children and youth who are Deaf-Blind. NJCDB’S goal will be accomplished through a menu of discrete initiatives within a responsive statewide approach for families, educators and community service providers.

NJCDB was able to meet our mission with a fun and “splash-tastic” approach! Families received resources including but no limited to: DDHH services, upcoming national training’s, and family engagement opportunities. Families then had the opportunity to network with one another and build relationships. The children enjoyed splashing around with one another in an inclusive setting being comforted by engaging with other children that they can relate to.

Don’t miss our on our next Family Learning Day in May. Details to follow.
